You will be guided through every step of the swimming pool construction process by your local agent – from ideation and design, through to construction, handover and the ongoing management of your pool. Your agent will even help you navigate the consent process, and advise on pool fencing requirements to ensure your build is compliant with all required areas of the building code. The full process will be discussed up front, including additional costs that need to be considered such as council consents.

Concept and design
Getting to know you, your family and unique environment is paramount in the early stages of the process. Our initial consultation is all about understanding your needs and desires, and ensuring that we design and build a pool suited to your lifestyle, wellness, fitness and family goals.
Consent process
Once your design and quote are approved and sales contract signed, we will then submit your build for building consent. The pool design, site plan, engineering plans, build specifications and calculations will be completed as part of the application process. Some councils also require resource consent for some builds, along with new water regulation compliance. Your local agent will discuss this with you when you meet. Consent generally takes between 4 - 6 weeks to obtain, depending on your local council. Most agents will also require a deposit at this stage to secure your position in the workflow. Many agents are booked up to 12-months in advance, so it is important to plan ahead. Your agent will provide you with clarity on timeframes and an indication of when you can expect work to start at your initial consultation.
Excavation
Once consent is granted, your Mayfair Pools team will commence work on site. This begins with the excavation of your site, ready for the inground substructure to be built. This will generally take between 2 - 5 days depending on your site. Your agent will discuss timeframes with you before commencing work.
Build
Once the site is excavated, the pool build begins. The substructure including framing, concrete floor and insulation is first, followed by the onsite fibreglassing. All pool plumbing, filtration systems and additional components are installed and tested, and tiling and landscaping completed at this stage. All components of the pool build are managed by your Mayfair agent, so you are not left to coordinate individual contractors. Mayfair Pools can be built at any time of the year - your pool site will be covered with a large tent so it is protected from the elements and construction can continue through the seasons. You can expect the pool build process to take anywhere between 4 - 6 weeks, depending on site access and the complexity of your pool build.
Handover
With everything now complete, and the pool full of water, all is left is for you to dive in! We will complete a full handover with you to ensure you are comfortable with every component of your pool and all your questions are answered.
