Moderne makeover: Platinum Renovation of the Year 2022
The pool and outdoor area of a grand Hawkes Bay art deco villa has been beautifully refurbished and landscaped by the team at Mayfair Pools Hawkes Bay, befitting its clean, modernistic 1930s design heritage. Winner of the 2022 Platinum Renovation of the Year award.
Warm balmy poolside days and long evenings under the stars are part and parcel of living the Hawkes Bay dream, so it was only fitting that this Hawkes Bay family breathe new life into their outdoor space with a full pool refurbishment, outdoor fire and seating area, and new artificial tennis court.
The leaking quartzone plaster pool was raised to give more depth – taking it from 1.45m to 1.7m in the deep end, and from 1.25m to 1.45m in the shallow end. It was also given a complete plumbing, lighting, heating and filtration overhaul. The pool coping and paving were completely replaced, new glass panel fencing installed and a hidden cover pit system installed.
Completing the outdoor space, the team were also engaged to construct a new artificial turf tennis court and design and build the stunning outdoor fire and seating area and decking in between the two outdoor spaces, creating a seamless flow between pool and court and an all-day, all-night outdoor entertainment area.
